Three Weeks And Counting!
I was nervous about putting the Glider together and actually got stuck for a minute, but my 12-year old jumped in to help and we had the whole machine assembled in less than half an hour. It’s sturdy enough to hold my weight but light enough that I can move it easily from one place to another. (It feels more stable on a flat surface than on carpet, but we slipped a mat underneath and it seems to work great like that.)
I’m 5’7” and 178 lbs. Or at least I was when I started. I’m waiting for my doctor’s check-up next week to weigh myself, but I’ve already noticed the difference in how much loser my clothes are. More than that though, I can feel the difference in my body itself, muscles I forgot I had and can now flex with a little bit of definition. I’m no Elizabeth Hassleback yet, but that’s ok.
The biggest thing I like about the Ab Glider is the back pain I DON’T have during or after using it. This is the first time I’ve found something that strengthens my abs without hurting my back. I’m also noticing more strength in my arms which is a happy side-effect since I’ve always feared ending up with flabby old-lady arms.
There are more exercises on the DVDs than I expected and than were shown on TV. It’s nice to pick and choose between the routines so I don’t get bored. From the first day, I could feel the arc crunch working. That’s a great feeling, even the next morning when it’s sore, it’s sore in a good way that motivates me to get up and do it again. Also, the Diet Guide is super-simple to follow if you like such things. There’s no major calorie counting, just a meal-plan all laid out so you can pick and choose what suits you.
Overall it’s a great machine and I’m delighted with the results thus far.
